In response, some schools are striving to enhance their international communication capacity, particularly within their public relations (PR) function. This study examines the importance of English language application in the public relations (PR) functions at SDN 173557 Tanding. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with the school’s headmistress and PR staff. The findings indicate that although the importance of English is recognized, the practical application in PR remains limited due to low English proficiency and a lack of targeted training. The school acknowledges the necessity of improving English skills to enhance its image and communicate effectively with foreign stakeholders. Consequently, capacity-building strategies, such as specialized training, are required for the school's public relations. It emphasizes that the integration of English in school PR functions can improve institutional image and communication and contributing to the region’s sustainable tourism development. The study recommends the implementation of targeted English for Specific Purposes (ESP) training, supported by local government policy and partnerships with higher education institutions, to foster a globally oriented school environment and professional PR capacity.
2025-11-07T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of English Studies and Business Communication
